New York Rangers Granted Franchise
May 15, 1926: The New York Rangers were officially granted a franchise. The two masterminds behind the New York Rangers were Lester Patrick (left) and John Hammond. The team won the Stanley Cup in its second year of existence. In addition, the NHL announced that Chicago and Detroit would join in November, giving the League 10 teams. |
